Duesseldorf/Germany, February 5, 2021 – Although it has only just begun, the young year of 2021 already stands for a positive view of the future. An outlook that the successful German games publisher astragon is also more than ready to pursue in the upcoming months – not only when it comes to hiring new, inventive minds or in terms of product development with the introduction of interesting new releases and the continued evolution of popular brands, but also in important strategic and structural aspects. To tackle the latter two points will be the main task of Christopher Kellner, wo has joined the astragon team on February 1, 2021 as Head of Business Development. He reports directly to the astragon Entertainment CEOs Julia Pfiffer and Tim Schmitz.
Kellner, who until recently worked in the business development and sales department of the independent production house remote control productions GmbH (rcp), started his career in 2003 as PR manager for the Hamburg based games publisher dtp entertainment AG. While there, he progressed through different career stages and finally became responsible for the establishment of the publisher’s international distribution department. 2010 saw the move of Kellner to Munich and the start of his work for remote control production, where he contributed significantly to the success of several studios within the developer network. During this time, Christopher Kellner also started to work successfully as a sales coach.
In his role of Head of Business Development at astragon, Kellner will from now on be responsible for scouting new projects and developer teams, the acquisition of brand licenses and the expansion of international business relationships.
“After more than ten instructive years on the developer side, I find it very exciting to work for a publisher again,” says Kellner. “I have had a friendly business relationship with astragon for many years now, which is why I am looking forward very much to helping shape the future of this successful publisher."
