New screenshots give players a glimpse of daily policing in Brighton

Duesseldorf/Germany, March 2, 2021 – This spring police fans will be able to don the badge of a male or female United States police officer and patrol the bustling streets of a fictional American city called Brighton in Police Simulator: Patrol Officers. At the beginning of the game’s early access phase on Steam™ players can start their first shifts in the introductory city district named “Melting Pot”, which includes five lively neighborhoods, that can be unlocked by collecting shift points and duty stars: Northpoint, Downtown, Alcombey, Chester and Beaufort Landing. Melting Pot offers players a very diverse cityscape characterized by both historical and state-of-the-art architecture, where pedestrians and vehicular traffic simulate the impression of a living complex metropolis.

After the release of the announcement trailer a few weeks ago, players can get another glimpse of the first district as well as some of their future tasks thanks to a new batch of screenshots today.

Police Simulator: Patrol Officers is being developed by Aesir Interactive in Munich and supported by a game development grant from the German FilmFernsehFonds Bayern funding body. The game will be published globally by astragon Entertainment.

Handcuffs, parking ticket pad and radar on hand, players will experience varied shifts beginning in the neighborhood of Northpoint, where they will – among other duties - monitor stationary and flowing traffic, record accidents, watch out for wanted suspects and question witnesses to crimes and accidents.

After choosing one of eight different playable characters, players will be out and about on the streets of Northpoint first on foot, and as the game progresses on board of the first of three police vehicles. Subsequent updates will expand their operational radius by two more districts and ten more neighborhoods, which will also include the second and third vehicle, new tasks, features such as a board computer and night shifts as well as a multiplayer mode.

With everything the virtual officers do and experience in their day-to-day work appropriate and lawful behavior towards Brighton’s citizens is an integral part of Police Simulator: Patrol Officers. A Conduct Point System will log and penalize abuses of power. Virtual police officers who are found to have acted against the law and the department’s code of conduct will be stripped of their badges and fired.

The title also will include a casual game mode where players will be able to receive hints, they would not normally receive in the main simulation portion of the game. Players will receive tips on crimes occurring in their immediate vicinity. Additionally, they will be shown more leniency when it comes to breaking the law, such as speeding or jaywalking. Serious offences like police brutality, however, will still be severely punished. Players will also be able to disable police vehicle collisions with NPCs while in this mode.

Police Simulator: Patrol Officers on PC will be available in early access via Steam™ and the official astragon homepage in spring 2021 for 19.99 Euro/USD 24.99/17.99 GBP (RSP).
